Hello guest
Your basket is empty
Hi, I’m Taya, the new sports therapist at Fire & Earth. I am a fully qualified (BSc) Sport and Exercise Therapist and graduated from Southampton Solent University in September 2020. I am so pleased to be part of the amazing Fire & Earth, who are already helping me gain great knowledge. I love helping people get back to the being best version of themselves.

Experience

For my university degree, I shadowed a physiotherapist during my placement at Easington Sport Football Club in Banbury. This football club also kick-started my career in sports therapy once I graduated, as I became the lead therapist for the development team. This allowed me to gain the confidence to make decisions about injuries based on evidence, communicating with the whole coaching staff on the players’ needs.

Due to the difficult year that we’ve all have had, a full-time job in sports therapy was difficult to find. Therefore, I made the decision to open my own sports therapy room within my house while also having a part-time job. This allowed me to keep hands on with my degree and gain knowledge along the way. I can assess any injury, sports related or just everyday niggles, and chose the best treatment specific to the person and their injury.

I am now with Fire & Earth and Banbury United Football team as their sports therapist.

Hobbies and Interests

I’ve always enjoyed watching football but have recently joined Easington Sports women’s football team, and soon after became the vice-captain for them. It has since solidified my love for the sport. I also love weight training and find it so therapeutic. This also showed me the benefits of sports therapy/sports massage on tight muscles. Knowing all the information about my body has helped me adapt my training to suit me, to see the best results. With this I have found the love for relaying this information onto my clients, so they benefit as much as possible from the exercise they complete.

I am currently based at The Quadrant in Coventry, from Monday to Thursday. I look forward to seeing you to help you become injury-free and sorting those niggles.
