I am a fully qualified sports massage therapist graduating from City of Guilds London Institute. My passions are Martial Arts, walking my dogs, running and horse riding. I've been training in the traditional Korean Martial Art of Kuk Sool Won for over 20 years, I started because I wanted to exercise my body and brain, as I went through the belts, I became fascinated at the pressure points we used in techniques and discovered that they are the same points used in Acupuncture and Acupressure. The yin and yang philosophy of harm and healing intrigued me and researching more I found that Eastern medicine sets out to treat the underlying issue, rather than the problem. This can be demonstrated also in Sports and Remedial Massage, working out what is causing the problem, correcting that as well as treating the initial complaint. Realising the connection lead me to pursue a career in massage and leaving behind my days of teaching in a school.
I studied Chinese Massage Tui’Na as the Chinese philosophy interested me as well as the fact I had a recurring shoulder injury, this inspired me to study more and discovering Sports and Remedial Massage I soon realised that understanding the human body was my passion. I am starting my Level 5 Soft Tissue qualification in January 2018, so I'm very excited to learn more and help as many people as I can!
