I am a fully qualified sports therapist that graduated from University College Birmingham in 2015. In my first year of the degree I learnt the basics of massage and went on to attain my ITEC level 4 qualification in sports massage. I particularly enjoy working to help prevent injuries, within my time at university I learnt a lot about pre season screening tests, including checks to see if someone is predisposed to injury. As well as stretching and exercising, massage can play a crucial role in decreasing chances of injury.
The things I am most passionate about are football, going to the gym for both weight lifting and fitness work and finally I also like to play golf.
As a sports therapist I am very enthusiastic about the rehabilitation process and recovering athletes or non-athletes to optimal health. Both sports and deep tissue massage work in many ways to facilitate these physical benefits. Massage therapy also aids the prevention of injuries and helps to maintain muscles for optimal performance. The screening aspects I learnt whilst training can be adapted to help all clients and this is where my interests lie. I believe my skill set in this area as well as stretching and exercise knowledge, and of course massage, can play a crucial role in decreasing chances of injury.
