Over to you, Georgina…

About Georgina James-Staff

Hi everyone, my name is Georgina and I’m the new Sports Therapist at Fire & Earth at David Lloyd In Coventry. I graduated from the University of Worcester in 2016 with a first-class honours degree in Sports Therapy (BSc) Hons. Since then, I’ve worked in various clinics as well as strength and conditioning suites across the West Midlands to hone my skills in order to provide the best rehabilitation advice for an array of injuries and niggles.

Experience

I have an extensive background working within a clinic and a sporting environment. This includes previously working amongst amateur athletes at Malvern RFC and the University of Worcester Rugby Team as the lead therapist on game days.

I’ve also helped professional athletes including Worcester Wolves Basketball, GB Wheelchair Basketball, Cirque de Soleil, MMA, and World Powerlifting Champions.

I can provide in-depth movement screenings to help predict, prevent, and treat possible injuries before they happen. If you’re currently suffering with an injury or have a long-term niggle then you don’t need to put up with it any longer! A full injury assessment can be carried out to determine the cause of your pain/symptoms and you can be provided with an individualised treatment and rehabilitation plan accompanied with the best advice to get you back to being fighting fit.

As well as injury assessments, at Fire and Earth I’ll be providing hands-on soft tissue treatments to reduce muscular tightness, restrictions and pains. This can optimise technique for increased performance, improved your mobility, flexibility and power.

Passions and Interests

In my spare time (when that exists!) I like to hit the gym and practise what I preach to my clients. After suffering a bout of poor health a few years ago, I understand the importance of looking after my body so I can continue to help others look after theirs. Other than that, I am happiest when going on long nature walks and renovating my garden to make it puppy-proof!

I am currently working at David Lloyd from Tuesday until Saturday. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to overcome your injuries, niggles, and chronic aches.
